10 ROOMS – Ours are spectacular! We offer a beautiful 109 room hotel with individually decorated rooms that offer families the opportunity to spend time together first in anticipation of the big day and afterwards reliving those special memories together. We love it when our couples come back years later, children in tow for Breakfast with Santa! Our Portside Lodge building has contemporary rooms, all with water views while our Carriage House Inn offers a Bed and Breakfast feel – truly something for every taste. Many of our rooms have been decorated in partnership with our Growing Up Green program, where local students work with us in learning the finer points of interior design.
9 OPTIONS – There are lots of them. At The Nonantum, no two weddings are alike! Whether a cozy elopement for two, or a tented pull-out-the-stops party for 400, or something in between, we have the experience and know how to make your day the wedding of your dreams. Arriving by horse and carriage, literally sailing away in to the sunset, with fireworks in the background, or the two of you slipping upstairs to a cozy Honeymoon Suite, we specialize in making your day as unique as your love!
8 COMMUNITY – We are Kennebunkport. For 130 years The Nonantum has been greeting guests and making dreams come true. But we also feel a strong commitment to our town and our state. That is why our employees are very active in helping to grow the economy in our Kennebunkport, Maine and beyond. Our people volunteer on numerous boards and we host events such as Fire and Ice, The Kennebunkport High School Prom and The Chamber of Commerce Welcome To Summer bash because we believe that an incoming tide raises all boats.
7 NEIGHBORS – The Bush Family. We share our Ocean Avenue address with none other than President George H. W. Bush and his lovely wife Barbara Bush. President and Mrs. Bush have been wonderfully generous to our community with both their time and their money and as a result we have many special facilities including the Bush Pavilion at Southern Maine Medical Center which boasts a state of the art facility. We hope you never need it, but it sure is nice to know it is there! In addition, The President docks his boat nearby and many a surprised Nonantum bride has been thrilled by the appearance of The Presidents boat during their reception. He often stops by for a photo op and a kiss for the lucky bride!
6 DAWN BLYSTONE-Wedding Specialist. Dawn also has been a member of The Nonantum Family for over 20 years. Dawn is the behind the scenes person who takes care of the big day. Many of our brides and grooms have commented on Dawn’s ability to anticipate what the guests will need before the guest even realizes they need it! (Ginger ale for a nervous tummy, bobby pins for a loose piece of hair, crayons for a tired flower girl?) Done.
5 MARINA – We have our own! Just imagine the guests seated in lovely chivari chairs (no uncomfortable folding chairs at The Nonantum) on our beautifully manicured lawn over looking the water. Suddenly a boat under sail slides up to the dock with the bride and her daddy aboard ready to make their grand entrance. There won’t be a dry eye in the house!
4 TIMOTHY AMES – Director of Sales. Tim has been part of The Nonantum Family of over 20 years. He loves meeting with our brides and their families to help them paint the picture of what their perfect wedding day looks like. Tim takes pride in ensuring no detail is left to chance.
3 LOCATION – The Nonantum Resort. From the moment you enter our timeless lobby, you feel like you have come home. Staff stops to say hello and to welcome all with a smile. Our breathtaking grounds feature unbelievable seasonal plantings and decorations. The Adirondack chairs call to you and suddenly flipping the pages of a magazine, while watching the boats glide by, cool drink in hand seems to be the number one priority in your day.
2 LOCATION – Kennebunkport. A quintessential Maine town. Great boutique shops, wonderful restaurants and bars, sandy beaches and a laid back vibe that says “Welcome”. Quite simply the perfect atmosphere to say “I Do”.
1 LOCATION – Maine. It is closer than you think! We are only an hour and a half from Boston by car and 30 minutes from the Portland International Jetport, which has daily nonstop flights from New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Charlotte and many other cities. Amtrak stops in the next town over (Wells, Maine) meaning that traveling to Maine has never been easier!
