Meet the Owners

The Nonantum Resort is owned by Seaside Hotel Associates, which is a Partnership owned by members of the Ginn Family. The head of the family, Herbert Ginn is the Owner of Ginn Real Estate in South Portland.

Mr. Ginn is a lifelong resident of Maine. He graduated from The University of Maine and also holds a JD from Boston University. He has been an active supporter of many local organizations including The Portland Children's Museum, The Maine Medical Center, The Portland Museum of Art and The Portland Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Ginn and his wife, Adah, have been married over 60 years and are ardent skiers, walkers and tennis players and can often be found on the sidelines, gymnasiums and auditoriums of New England cheering on their 8 grandchildren and three great grandchildren in their many athletic and musical endeavors. Mr. and Mrs. Ginn reside in the greater Portland, Maine area.

Jean Ginn Marvin, daughter of Herbert and Adah Ginn, serves as the Innkeeper at The Nonantum Resort. Mrs. Marvin resides in the greater Portland area with her husband, Bob Marvin, and their children Adam, Parker and Colby. Mrs. Marvin graduated from Syracuse University and holds a Master's degree from the Muskie School at the University of Southern Maine. She is a former State Legislator, and serves on numerous boards including the Maine Innkeepers and the New England Innkeepers.  She as voted the Innkeeper of the Year 2011 by the Maine Innkeepers Associaton.

Adam Marvin recently graduated from law school at the University of Chicago and is employed as a lawyer in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also a graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School and Colby College. Adam has often helped out behind the front desk and has been an ace receptionist when we are short handed!

Shauna Marvin is the newest member of the Marvin Family. She and Adam were recently married in her home state of California. Shauna is a graduate of UCLA and law school at the University of Chicago. While Shauna has never worked at The Nonantum (yet!) rumor has it she mixes a mean cosmopolitan!

Parker Marvin graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and Johnson and Wales in Providence, Rhode Island where he earned an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition. He is employed as a Chef in San Diego, California.  Parker occasionally works in the kitchen at The Nonantum and particularly enjoys working during the many large tented events the Nonantum hosts each summer.  He has also studied cooking in Singapore and Thailand.

Colby Elizabeth Marvin is a senior at Cape Elizabeth High School. When not fulfilling her duties behind the front desk, she can be found on the volleyball court or performing in musicals at theaters near her house. Colby also enjoys volunteering and traveling the globe. Her dream is to visit every country in her lifetime. Colby is on the hunt for a perfect college where she will major in Hospitality and, hopefully, come back to the Nonantum to apply her skills.
