Watercolor Instruction Package

Learn to paint in watercolors during this two day workshop led by local artist and instructor Judith Kinsman.

Awaken your senses! Come join me seaside and learn to paint watercolors at the Nonantum Resort June 16th & 17th. Imagine yourself surrounded by beautiful flowering gardens with vivid colors bathed in sun-light, sailboats heading out to sea, the soothing fragrance of salty air, and the sound of wavelets lapping the shoreline. Become inspired by the play of light against cool shadows, and the ever-changing colors of the sky right from your comfortable chair or easel at the Nonantum Resort.

This instruction is for artists at all levels( beginner and beyond) interested in developing their creative side. It is all about expressing yourself in watercolor. After a delicious breakfast, each class begins with a discussion of watercolor techniques and a demonstration. Then off we go to paint amid the 7 acres of beautiful gardens and picturesque coastal scenes. With a positive and relaxed approach, I will help guide your artistic direction. A deliciously prepared lunch is served each day.

What you need to bring:
1. a desire to paint
2. Arches 140 pound cold press paper (several sheets)
3. 1” flat watercolor brush
4. 1 round watercolor brush #10 or #12 (with a nice point)
5. three small tubes of watercolor paint (student or professional grade) - rose madder genuine, cobalt blue, and aureolin yellow
6. a small watercolor palette
7. #3B drawing pencil and an eraser
8. a hat and sun block
9. easel (optional)
